These dresses were brought to life with the help of a skilled dressmaker in Dakar. I selected both their designs and the textiles used to create them. When it came time to photograph the dresses, I didn’t have any models available for a photoshoot. Instead, I decided to stage them using traditional Senegalese objects I could find around the house, adding a unique cultural context to the presentation.
